The Erin's Rovers were found in 1974, ironically they were not a gaelic football club, but Erin's Rovers Camogie Club. In 1983 though all that changed and the Erin's Rovers Ladies Gaelic Football Club came about. Through the efforts of our numerous trainers, players, officers, and supporters over the last 18 years, the Erin's Rovers have won 13 Chicago League titles: 1983, 1984, 1986, and 1989 to 1998.
1992 marked the year that the Ladies Football was affiliated with the North American County Board for the first time and the Erin's Rovers were proud to be the first Chicago Ladies representatives in Philadelphia at the playoffs. The Rovers have competed in seven NACB Senior Ladies Finals. Without a doubt, the highlight of our eighteen year history was in 1998. After a long, tough summer of competing in Chicago, we went on to Washington D.C. for the NACB finals. Through the determination and dedication of our management and players, we finally achieved what we had so long worked, wished, and yes prayed for: North American Senior Ladies Champions
In addition to our history as a team, the Rovers have a strong tradition as a club, with our officers and members continuously working diligently to keep the club going strong and to participate in and promote all that is expected of members of the G.A.A. Off the pitch the Rovers raise money for good causes and yearly donate to various charities or causes. In addition to the worthwhile causes, we arrange outings and club-sponsored activities to help promote the club and of course to have the "craic"!!!
